About Us

Steve Parkhouse (Director)

Director Steve is a well-known figure on the Bristol Music Scene, having recently been dubbed Bristol's very own 'Mr Music' in an article featuring Bristol's Arts & Culture Power List of 2013. Steve has more than earnt this title, having been music chief at Bristol's beloved Folk House, he is now Concert Manager at the equally inspiring St George's, one of the UK's leading concert halls. Steve is also a director of BCFM (www.bcfm.org.uk) and hosts the Jelli Records Bristol Music Show every Monday evening from 8-11pm.

Around his day job, he has always helped local musicians, promoted gigs, run stages at festivals, DJ'ed his own radio shows, but until 2008, he hadn't ever had a single 'banner' under which to unite his extra-curricular musical activities.

Jelli Records was the answer (if the question was, 'what did Steve do about this?').

Chris Pritchett (Director)

A lawyer in the daytime and a husband and father the rest of the time, Chris also squeezes in the odd bit of music.

A long-time acoustic musician with a Bristol CV covering Amber (an early duo with the marvellous Jane Taylor), indie-rock band Minerva and recently, current acoustic favourites Jacanda.

Chris met Steve in 2000, and they've probably discussed record labels and management on and off since then.

Rose Mazillius (Associate Director)

Rose joined Jelli Records in December 2012 and soon began to work in a range of areas. Within her role, Rose manages the website, sponsorship, co-organising Jelli's input into many local festivals, advertising & generally anything technical.

Outside of Jelli, Rose works across the arts in Bristol at Arnolfini Gallery, The Royal West of England Academy of Arts (RWA) and St. George's concert hall. Rose is also Deputy Project Manager of the new collective, a Bristol based initiative who will be staging their first major project in July 2013 with funding from O2 Think Big. The project, to be held at Philadelphia St, will offer newly emerging artists a 2 month residency with the chance to exhibit their work in a final 2 week exhibition.

Dave Williams

I was born in Bristol, have lived here all my life and have worked for Jelli Records for 6 years. I have worked on all the music stages at Festivals that Jelli Records gets involved in every year - Acoustic Music Festival, Keynsham Music Festival, The Harbour Festival, Redfest, The Balloon Fiesta and Brisfest. I help set up and take down the Jelli Records equipment (gazebo, banners ,flags and merchandise etc ) at these events, move artists/bands equipment and assist the Stage Manager in running a good music event.

I am a volunteer Steward at St. Georges Bristol, I like Folk music, Blues, Soul and Reggae and I am really happy to be part of the Jelli Records Team who are helping to promote and publicise all the different types of music on the local Bristol music scene.

Steph 'Harpo' Gillett

Steph joined the Jelli team in 2010 ahead of the revived Bristol Folk Festival and has been a part of many stage crews since, both in front and behind stage, usually sporting ‘gold’ shoes!
His normal day job is in the Museum and Heritage sector, but he is passionate about music and also plays harmonics at several of Bristol's lively open mic pub sessions (don't tell Steve though!).

Demo Policy

Jelli is always interested to hear from artists in the South West who are primarily acoustic, folk, roots or jazz-based, though we've got pretty open minds.

Before sending any demos or MP3s, we would prefer it if you emailed and described your act and your aspirations. Feel free to tell us about links to song samples, YouTube clips and so on.

Whilst we are quite limited in the acts we look to sign to management or recording deals, there are many other ways we can help, be it inclusion on radio broadcasts or podcasts, programming at gigs and festivals and so on.
